Don and Joyce Carmichael started Carmichael’s Produce in November of 1976 selling pecans and Christmas trees with the building not complete, no electricity and used a generator to run his pecan cracker and Christmas lights. After more than forty years, Carmichael’s Produce has grown to be a hometown favorite in Bixby for fresh produce, plants, seeds, homemade candy, pecans, amish jams, pickles, and more. The store is located at 14800 South Memorial, Bixby Ok 74008. We are open year-round, 7 days a week from 8 am to 6 pm. In the late winter and early spring, Carmichael’s is the place to come for seeds, plants and fertilizers for your garden. Not to mention the expert gardening advice of Don Carmichael himself. The spring and summer months burst with fresh produce straight from our gardens with some of the favorites being sweet watermelons, canteloupes, fresh corn, ripe tomatoes, and Don’s dirty onions. In the Fall, Carmichael’s is known for pecans, pumpkins, gourds and family fun. After twenty-two years of being a local fall tradition with families visiting to buy pumpkins and visit the animal farm, it was time to expand. In 2000, Carmichael’s Pumpkin Patch was established at 171st & Mingo. Each October, thousands of people continue to carry on tradition by visiting our Pumpkin Patch. It is fun for the entire family and includes a cane maze, pony rides, animal farm, and a wide variety of pumpkins and gourds. During the late fall and winter, pecans are a staple in our store. We carry a wide variety of pecans, nuts, and peanuts. Customers come from near and far to have their pecans cracked and shelled by us. In December we carry some of the most beautiful fresh Christmas trees and specialize in custom fruit baskets. We hope you will come visit us and become one of our valued customers and friends.
